Pet Care Provider
You can call me Dria! As a kid, I was always trying to take in stray cats or begging my parents for a new pet. In my teens I fostered dozens of stray kittens, volunteered with animal shelters, and took every biology class my school offered. I got my bachelor's degree in animal behavior, focusing on training and enrichment–the tools we use to keep animals happy and healthy when they are living alongside humans.
I love all kinds of animals. While working at a zoo, I got the chance to meet giant tortoises, lemurs, and many rehabilitated ambassador animals like native owls, opossums, and hawks. In the past I’ve owned dogs, chickens, a rabbit, a bearded dragon, and tarantulas! I love ecology, learning about ecosystems and the way that living things interact. I also love to learn how to identify native plants and animals–sometimes on dog walks I see new kinds of wildflowers and just have to stop to get a pic for later!
